The department has multidisciplinary team members that include:
- Physiotherapists.
- Occupational therapists.
- Prosthetics orthotic technologists.
- Orthopedic and trauma technologists.
- Wheelchair technicians.
Services offered:
1.Physiotherapy services
- We have competent staff that utilize current evident based physiotherapy practices for both inpatient and outpatient.
- Working Days Monday to Sunday
- Operational hours 24 hours a day
2.Occupational therapy
- Undertake rehabilitative services to clients with special needs and especially children who have developmental challenges. These include cerebral palsy and autism among others
3.Prosthetic and orthotics
- Provision of artificial limbs to amputees secondary to various factors. These include, trauma, chronic conditions like diabetes among others.
- This enhance mobility of clients and facilitate their independence to perform daily chores. The unit utilize recycled eco-friendly materials.
- The unit is able to fabrication orthotics and highly specialized prosthetics – above knee and below knee prostheses.
4.Outreach program
- The program targets children with developmental challenges. Critical for continuous monitoring of their development, allows for timely interventions and is within 50Km radius. Undertaken every Friday, 9am to 4pm.
